Anyone who’s been to Cape Town will recognise these iconic trees from the foot of Table Mountain, as Hospital Bend snakes it’s way towards the city centre.

Anton Kannemeyer is a Cape Town-born artist and co-founder of Bitterkomix magazine, which launched in 1992. Known for his provocative approach, he creates controversial work that engages with South African racial politics. A graduate of the University of Stellenbosch, where he studied graphic design and illustration, his confrontational style has drawn both praise and criticism, particularly from white Afrikaner communities.
